ID.EIGHT is a unisex sustainable footwear brand founded in 2021 by Italian designer Giuliana Borzillo and Korean creative Dong Seon Lee. 100 % of the final production and assembly happens on the European continent – currently split between family-run factories in Italy and Portugal – using innovative bio-based and upcycled fruit waste materials developed in Italy.

Inspiring Story

Giuliana and Dong Seon met while studying at Polimoda fashion institute in Florence, sharing a frustration with fast fashion’s environmental impact and a vision for circular footwear that doesn’t compromise on style. They chose to produce exclusively in Europe to maintain short supply chains and true traceability. Today every pair is still made in small batches by artisans who also craft for luxury houses – only using fruit that would otherwise be discarded. “We don’t follow trends, we close circles,” says Dong Seon.
