Brand Update: Brynje and Esbit Removed

We have removed Brynje and Esbit from InEurope.eu. We could not independently verify that they meet our minimum requirement of 90% European production, and neither brand responded to our request to check the accuracy of the blog content.

Brynje’s own responsibility page says most products are made in Europe, with many collections produced in Poland, but some key items are also made in China and one recent production was noted in Ukraine. That makes Poland the main production country, but not enough to verify the 90% Europe rule. Brynje also presents a strong sustainability profile, including Eco-Lighthouse certification, bluesign certification, Oeko-Tex-approved materials, repairs and a 5-year guarantee.

Esbit’s own site says its dry fuel is produced exclusively in Germany, which is the clearest manufacturing evidence found for the brand. The company is based in Hamburg and describes itself as a German family business, but it also says it serves international customers from Hamburg and China, so we cannot mark 90% European production as verified. Esbit does position itself around durable, long-lasting and compact design, but that is more brand positioning than third-party proof.

InEurope.eu’s core requirement is that at least 90% of production must take place in Europe, meaning the continent, not just the EU.
