There’s a room in most wardrobes that nobody thinks about: the hours between getting home and leaving again. Tekla was built entirely for that space. The Copenhagen brand makes sleepwear, slippers, boxers, and accessories from organic cotton and lambswool — designed with the same rigour as the best outerwear, but made for rest. Tekla’s bedding and towels are what put the brand on the map, but in this article we focus on what you actually wear.

Brand Intro

Tekla was founded in 2017 by Charlie Hedin — Swedish designer and former Acne Studios and Eytys veteran — from his studio in Copenhagen, Denmark. The brand started with bedding and towels, but has grown into a full home-and-body wardrobe: pyjama sets, boxers, T-shirts, sleepwear accessories, slippers, and canvas hats. Everything is made in organic cotton, French linen, or natural shearling — produced in Europe, including Portugal. The design language is the same across every category: minimal, honest, built to last.

Inspiring Story

In 2023, Tekla quietly added boxers and T-shirts to their sleepwear line — not as a fashion statement, but as a logical extension of their comfort philosophy. Cut from the same cotton poplin used in their pyjama shirts, the boxers feature a unisex design and a finish that prioritises daily wear over novelty. That same year, Tekla collaborated with Birkenstock on a limited capsule combining footwear and lounge clothing — shearling and poplin in matching colourways — a pairing that felt obvious in retrospect, two European brands with the same obsession for quality at home. The slippers that followed in 2025 — lambswool shearling with a rubber sole — complete that vision.

Who is this for?

You spend real time at home and you want to look the part without getting dressed. You’ve worn out one cheap pyjama set too many and you’re ready to invest in something that survives the washing machine — and improves with it. You appreciate understated design: no logos, no slogans, just well-cut fabric in colours that work together. You might pair a Tekla pyjama shirt with jeans on a slow Sunday morning. You want your slippers to actually support your feet.

And if the sleepwear convinces you? Tekla’s organic cotton bedding and terry towels — the products that built the brand — are made with exactly the same philosophy: fewer things, chosen well, kept for years.
