Vintage doesn’t have to mean second-hand. Kiplay Vintage proves that French workwear from the 1920s can be reborn as contemporary classics. Every garment carries a century of Norman craftsmanship, built to outlast fast fashion.

Brand Intro

Kiplay Vintage was founded in 1921 in Saint-Pierre-d’Entremont, Normandy, when Marcel, son of a clog maker, married Emilie, daughter of a fabric merchant. Today, fourth-generation Clément Pradal leads the family workshop, collaborating with designer Christian Légier to transform archival workwear patterns into contemporary vintage clothing. All 49 team members craft garments from moleskin and chevron fabrics in the original Norman workshop.

Inspiring Story

The Gaspard jacket began as a worker’s essential in 1920s France, designed to withstand harsh conditions. A century later, Clément Pradal rediscovered the original patterns in Kiplay’s archives and worked with Christian Légier to adapt the cut for modern wear while preserving the hand-darned details and 390g/m² moleskin durability. Some garments still bear the reproduced original label, connecting wearers directly to the brand’s heritage.
