Most bikepacking gear is designed in a studio, tested in a warehouse, and refined by committee. 7Roads does it differently: every bag and rack is built by two riders in Kovel, Ukraine, and tested on the roads outside their front door — rain, sand, boggy tracks included. When a product survives those conditions, it earns its place in the range.
Brand Intro
7Roads was founded in 2016 by Helen Semchenko and Stanislav Kostak, a couple of bikepacking enthusiasts based in Kovel, northwest Ukraine. The two had been making bags for themselves and friends since around 2010, when they first started overnight rides. Over time that hobby grew into a full-fledged micro-business, producing bikepacking bags, racks, handlebar setups, and accessories. Every product is handmade in Ukraine using materials chosen for durability and waterproofing — and every product is personally tested by the founders in real-world conditions.
Inspiring Story
When Russia’s bombardments began knocking out electricity across Ukraine, 7Roads kept working. In late 2022, Helen wrote to a customer: “We just spent around 2000 USD on an EcoFlow power station, because we need to keep working, no matter the electricity blackouts.” That single sentence says everything about who builds these bags. While larger brands optimise supply chains, 7Roads invests in a generator to keep stitching. The products that arrive at your door were assembled under conditions most European brands will never face. That dedication to craft — against real adversity — is baked into every seam.
Who is this for?
You ride loaded. You plan overnight gravel rides, multi-day bikepacking routes, or long unsupported tours where your gear has to work every single time. You’re not interested in brand logos or trend cycles — you want a bag that stays waterproof in heavy rain, mounts solidly, and doesn’t rattle. You also appreciate that the people who made your gear rode the same roads you’re planning to ride.
