InEurope Newsletter 1 – Asphalte in the picture
Subscribe now to receive this bi-weekly in your inbox.
1. Brand in the Spotlight: Asphalte (France)

Asphalte’s preorder model not only eliminates waste but also encourages more mindful purchasing. With an average two-month wait for delivery, customers take time to consider the right size and whether they truly need the item. Exchanges or refunds remain possible if needed, though as a loyal customer, I’ve rarely found this necessary.
Never heard of Asphalte? They’re a French clothing company that make traceable, top-quality clobber, fairly made all over Europe using a preorder model that cuts waste and offers a better way of making and buying clothes. Want 15€ off your first order? Use this referral code at checkout: AMIJAKN3AQS9. See what’s available: https://www.asphalte.com/f
If you want to support my work—yes, using the referral code also gets me a voucher. Maybe I’ll be wearing this wool gilet soon. The English site shows men’s clothing only. Use German or French for women’s collection.

News from Europe
From 19 July 2026, new EU regulations ban the destruction of returned clothing, shoes, and accessories for large companies. Amazon and Zalando, as major enterprises, must comply for their own inventory. For marketplace sellers, the brand is responsible for its products. However, since platforms often handle return logistics, if Amazon or Zalando receive and destroy returns, they are liable. Small businesses – as many of the brands on your favorite website (InEurope.eu) face delayed or exempt enforcement.
InEurope Updates
This is our first test newsletter. Until late August, we’ll add two new brands weekly, then evolve based on resources and partnerships.
InEurope is currently a volunteer project led by Jakob De Proft. We’re exploring ethical, inclusive ways to monetize and improve the platform. Share your ideas.
