Fast fashion promises everything and delivers nothing that lasts. ISTO. flips the model entirely: a Lisbon brand that shows you exactly who made your shirt, what it cost to produce, and why that price is fair. When a brand invites you to tour its factory, you know it has nothing to hide.
Brand Intro
ISTO. was founded in Lisbon in July 2017 by Pedro Palha, Pedro Gaspar, and Vasco Mendonça — three men with backgrounds in management, digital communication, and design who were tired of the fashion industry’s frantic pace. The name is an acronym: Independence, Superb, Transparency, Organic — four pillars that govern every decision. All products are made from 100% organic, natural, or recycled materials and produced almost entirely in Portugal, with GOTS certification as a baseline standard.
Inspiring Story
In 2017, Pedro Palha returned to Portugal with one idea: use the country’s world-class textile manufacturing tradition to build a brand that finally put Portugal’s name on the label. Where international labels had long sourced from Portuguese factories without acknowledgement, ISTO. did the opposite — they made origin central to their identity. They then took transparency a step further by publishing full production costs online and launching “Factourism”: inviting customers to physically visit the factories where their clothes are made. By 2025, ISTO. had expanded to six stores across Europe and secured a growth partnership with Altaz Capital to scale internationally — without compromising the founding ethos.
Who is this for?

You dress intentionally. You’re done replacing the same shirt every two years and want a wardrobe built on fewer, better pieces. You care where your clothes are made — not as a trend, but as a principle. You value knowing what you pay for: not markup, not marketing, but honest craft. You work in a city, travel light, and want clothes that move between contexts without effort. ISTO. is for you.
