Lesovik Hammocks from Poland

Poland’s first outdoor hammock maker — handcrafted in Warsaw, built for the forest floor and beyond.

“I don’t want to stir up the markets with massive paid promotion. It’s the same as not wanting to climb a mountain pass quickly and aggressively, because too much ambition can easily bring you down.” — Rafał Palowski,

Most hammocks are made in Asia and designed on a spreadsheet. Lesovik flips that model: every hammock is sewn in Poland by people who actually use them. The name comes from Leshy — the Slavic forest spirit — and the brand lives up to it, building gear designed to disappear into the trees.

Brand Intro

Lesovik was founded around 2012–2013 by Rafał Palowski and his partner Gosia, two outdoor enthusiasts who started sewing hammocks from scratch and sharing them with friends. Based in Warsaw, Poland, the company grew out of a genuine need: Rafał was recovering from an illness when hammock camping became part of his life, and demand from his circle made the leap to a real company feel inevitable. Today, Lesovik designs, tests, and manufactures 100% in Poland across four small sewing workshops, with Rafał leading product development and Gosia managing finance and operations.

Inspiring Story

Lesovik didn’t start with investment capital — it started with student savings and a sewing machine. Rafał and Gosia made hammocks for themselves, then for friends, then for friends of friends. When Rafał was going through a difficult period health-wise, hammock camping became more than a hobby — it became a form of recovery. The outdoor community’s response convinced them that this idea could work at scale. The DUCH hammock won an award at the “Śląska Rzecz” design competition and the MustHave! Award at the Łódź Design Festival 2015 — recognition that a small Polish brand with no outside funding could compete with established outdoor names.

Who is this for?

You camp in forests, not campsites. You’ve spent a night in a tent on uneven ground and promised yourself it would be the last time. You want a shelter system that sets up in five minutes, weighs under a kilogram, and handles everything from a summer evening to a cold October night. You buy once, buy well, and you’d rather support a small Polish workshop than order from a warehouse on another continent.
