Most T-shirts promise quality and deliver disappointment by the third wash. SANVT set out to fix exactly that — starting from a very personal frustration: two brothers in Munich who simply couldn’t find the perfect T-shirt, so they made it themselves. The result is a permanent, trend-free collection of clothing essentials produced in some of Europe’s most respected factories.

Brand Intro

SANVT is a fashion startup founded in Munich in 2018 by brothers Benjamin and Felix Heyd. Frustrated by the lack of truly high-quality everyday basics at fair prices, they built a direct-to-consumer brand with one clear principle: offer the finest materials and craftsmanship, without the retail mark-up. All garments are produced in certified family-run factories in Portugal and Italy, using only natural, biodegradable fibres such as organic and Extra-Long Staple (ELS) cotton. SANVT does not follow seasonal trends — their collection is permanent and built to last.

The brand’s signature T-shirt is made from extra-long staple (ELS) cotton, a rare fibre representing less than 1% of global cotton production. With significantly longer fibres (up to 37mm), ELS cotton enables smoother, more durable fabrics and is chosen for its softness and shape retention over time.

Inspiring Story

The name says it all: Sanft is the German word for soft, smooth, gentle — and that philosophy guides every decision the brand makes. When Benjamin and Felix couldn’t find the perfect T-shirt in 2018, they started talking directly to European fabric mills and garment factories. What they discovered changed their approach: with a direct production model — no middlemen, no seasonal overstock — it was actually possible to use the world’s finest cotton and still price below standard retail. In 2024, SANVT was named the winner of the Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin T-shirt test — a public validation of what two brothers set out to prove in Munich six years earlier.

Who is this for?

You buy fewer things but expect them to last. You’ve thrown out too many grey hoodies that pilled after two months and too many T-shirts that lost their shape by summer’s end. You want clothing that fits real bodies — SANVT developed a new sizing system based on actual consumer data. You care where things are made, but you’re done paying luxury-brand prices for a logo. If you want European craftsmanship, honest pricing, and a wardrobe that doesn’t need replacing each season, SANVT was built for you.
