Sjö&Hav Outdoor Care was founded by islanders who grew up in the Stockholm archipelago without running water. Based in Stockholm, the brand creates biodegradable soap, shampoo, detergent, and DEET-free mosquito repellent for outdoor use. Founded in 2004 after launching their saltwater soap, all products are developed with Swedish chemists and manufactured in Sweden for natural Scandinavian conditions.
Inspiring Story
It started with a simple problem on a small island: how to stay clean without harming the sea. Growing up in the Stockholm archipelago without electricity or fresh water, the founders spent summers swimming and washing in saltwater. When they couldn’t find products that were effective yet gentle on nature, they created their own. In summer 2004, they launched their saltwater soap—it became an immediate success among boaters and islanders along Sweden’s coastline. Today, Sjö&Hav’s range includes biodegradable body care and cleaning products, all tested to work in both freshwater and saltwater, proving that outdoor hygiene doesn’t need to leave a trace.
