Scotland has some of the most unforgiving weather in Europe. Gale-force winds, horizontal rain, and no shelter above the tree line — this is the environment Trekkertent is built for. One person, one sewing machine, made-to-order for hikers who need it to work when it matters most.

Brand Intro

Trekkertent is a one-person cottage operation run by Marc, based in Scotland. He designs and hand-sews ultralight shelters in both Dyneema® Composite Fabric (DCF) and Silpoly, specifically engineered for British and Nordic weather conditions. Each tent is made to order, with custom modifications available on request. Lead times typically run seven to eight weeks — because no two orders are identical.

Inspiring Story

Trekkertent emerged from a simple frustration: commercially available ultralight tents were either designed for US desert trails or too heavy for serious multi-day hiking in the UK. Marc started sewing shelters that prioritised low wind profile, fast pitching and real-world durability in wet, exposed terrain. The result is a small range of shelters with a cult following among ultralight hikers who value a personal relationship with their gear maker over instant delivery.

Who is this for?

You hike in the UK or Northern Europe where the weather is rarely predictable. You have waited eight weeks for a tent before and considered it worth every day. You want a shelter made specifically for your conditions — and if you need a custom modification, you want to ask the person who will actually sew it. You value craft over convenience.
