Greece is not the first country that comes to mind when you think of waterproof clothing — but it probably should be. Anorak Hellas has been making reliable, durable rain gear in Athens since 1975, long before “technical outerwear” became a marketing buzzword. Their jackets, suits, and ponchos are used daily by motorcyclists, outdoor workers, hunters, and sailors across Europe — built around one simple principle: keep the water out, for as long as it takes.

Brand Intro

Anorak Hellas was founded in 1975 by Ioannis Koskovos in Athens, making it the first waterproof garment manufacturer in Greece. Today, his son Dimitris Koskovos leads the company, continuing production in their Athens facility under strict quality control. The product range covers rain jackets, full suits, ponchos, workwear, and specialised collections for motorcycling, hunting, and sea use — all made entirely in Greece, with high-frequency welded seams and PVC-coated polyester fabrics tested to over 10,000mm water resistance.

Inspiring Story

It started not with a jacket, but with a heat-welding press and a football stadium. In 1972, founder Ioannis Koskovos was making waterproof cushions for Greek stadiums — and quickly realised the same technology could protect people, not just seats. Three years later, Anorak Hellas opened as Greece’s first waterproof clothing manufacturer, starting with practical rainwear for workers and outdoor users. Five decades on, the family-owned company still manufactures in Athens — and every seam is still welded, not stitched, for complete waterproofing.

Who is this for?

You spend time outside in real weather — on a motorcycle, on a trail, on a boat, or on a construction site. You want a rain jacket that does its job without drama: fully waterproof, windproof, easy to pack, and machine washable. You’re not interested in paying for a brand name — you want European manufacturing, proven materials, and a garment that holds up season after season. If you’ve ever been soaked through a “waterproof” jacket, Anorak was built as the answer.
