No gas canisters, no proprietary fuel — just alcohol, wood, or even charcoal. Leo, a one-person cottage maker in Bavaria, builds ultralight stove systems that slip inside your cook pot and weigh almost nothing. X-Boil proves that German engineering does not need a factory floor.

Brand Intro

X-Boil is a micro cottage brand founded and run by Leo in Oberbayern, Bavaria, Germany. Leo designs, hand-assembles and ships every stove himself — including the X-Boil alcohol stove system and the X-Fire series of ultralight portable campfires. All components are made in Germany and assembled by Leo personally in Bavaria. The stoves run on alcohol, fuel gel or Esbit tablets, and the graphite felt burner prevents spills even if tipped over.

Inspiring Story

The X-Boil stove was born from a Bavarian hiker’s desire for a silent, spill-proof, ultralight alcohol stove that actually fits inside your pot. Leo engineered the graphite felt burner himself — it absorbs the fuel, prevents leaks and works reliably in cold weather. The X-Fire campfire came later: a collapsible titanium fire pit that weighs 115g yet handles a full evening around the fire for a small group. Both products now ship to hikers across Europe and beyond — still hand-assembled by Leo, one at a time.

Who is this for?

You go stoveless sometimes, but when you cook you want it light, silent and reliable. You have given up on gas canisters and want fuel you can find anywhere. You are a gram-counter who still wants a real campfire at the end of a long day — and you appreciate gear made by the person who designed it.
