Most wardrobes are full of clothes that never get worn. Baukjen exists to fix exactly that: fewer pieces, made properly, designed to last years — not seasons. The London brand with Dutch roots is one of the highest-scoring B Corp fashion companies in the world, proving that genuine sustainability and real style are not a trade-off.
Brand Intro
Baukjen was co-founded in London by Dutch duo Baukjen de Swaan Arons and Geoff van Sonsbeeck, who first launched luxury maternity brand Isabella Oliver in 2003 after leaving careers at Orange and Shell. The Baukjen womenswear label followed as a solution for everyday dressing — contemporary, effortless, and built to last. The family-run business produces over 90% of its collection in Europe, primarily in Portugal, and holds a B Corp score of 153.6 — among the highest for any SME fashion brand globally.
Inspiring Story
In 2003, Baukjen de Swaan Arons was pregnant and could not find maternity clothes that were stylish, comfortable, and well made. She and her husband Geoff left their corporate careers to fill that gap, launching Isabella Oliver from their home. It worked. Over the years, the same founding philosophy — design clothes women genuinely want to wear, season after season — expanded into the everyday womenswear label Baukjen. In 2021, that commitment earned them a United Nations Global Climate Action Award and B Corp certification, placing them among the top sustainable fashion companies in the world. The brand is now expanding into the European market with a Dutch webshop, circling back to its founders’ roots.
Who is this for?

You dress with intention, not with trends. You want a blazer that works on a Tuesday morning and a Friday evening — without thinking about it. You have nothing against spending well, but you expect the garment to still be in your wardrobe in five years. You are not looking for a statement piece. You are looking for the piece that makes every other item in your wardrobe work better. Baukjen is for women who know exactly what they want — and are tired of settling for less.
