Fast fashion gave us choice without conscience. JAN ‘N JUNE asked a different question: what if affordable style and real sustainability were never a trade-off? Since 2014, this Hamburg label has been proving that clean fashion can look sharp, feel good, and cost less than your conscience.

Brand Intro

JAN ‘N JUNE was founded in Hamburg in 2014 by Anna Bronowski and Juliana “Jula” Holtzheimer — two friends who studied fashion design at AMD Hamburg and shared a frustration with the lack of stylish, affordable, and genuinely sustainable clothing. The brand name is a nod to their birth months. Their collections are produced in Wrocław, Poland, and Portugal, in factories they visit regularly. Today, a team of 21 works from Hamburg’s Speicherstatt quarter, designing minimalist clothing for both women and men.

Inspiring Story

It started with a bottle of wine in Hamburg in the summer of 2013. Two 23-year-olds — Anna and Jula — couldn’t find what they were looking for in shops: fashion that was clean, minimal, and honest about how it was made. So they launched a crowdfunding campaign on Nordstarter, raised €10,000 in weeks, and produced their first collection “Supergirl” for Spring/Summer 2015. To fund the early years, they moved back to their parents, worked as stylists and in catering. That determination built a brand now stocked in over 120 stores across Europe.

Who is this for?

You care about what your clothes are made of — but you’re not willing to dress like a compromise. You want pieces that work from Tuesday’s office to Saturday’s park, without the guilt of knowing a garment was made in exploitative conditions. You shop fewer items but keep them longer, and you expect brands to back their sustainability claims with real certifications, not just hashtags.
