Sustainable fashion has a reputation for being dull — earth tones, minimal branding, guilty conscience included. Brava Fabrics tears that up entirely. From their Creative Hub in Barcelona, they prove that colourful, joyful clothing and genuine ethical production are not opposites — they’re the point.
Brand Intro
Brava Fabrics was founded in 2015 by Ivan Monells and Ramón Barbero, two engineers from Barcelona who combined backgrounds in economics, computer science, and industrial engineering to build something different. Based in their Creative Hub in Barcelona, the team of around 20 people designs vibrant, print-led clothing for men and women, launching over 120 new items each season. All production takes place in Spain and Portugal, in workshops where the team personally knows the tailors and oversees every step of the process.
Inspiring Story
Starting with just €25,000 and two loans, Ivan Monells and Ramón Barbero launched Brava Fabrics from scratch in 2015. One thing was non-negotiable from day one: the brand had to be ethical and ecological — not as a marketing checkbox, but as a daily operating principle. They chose 100% organic certified cotton grown without chemicals, sourced locally, and built personal relationships with their production partners in Spain and Portugal. Within its first years, Brava Fabrics surpassed €150,000 in sales and attracted international investors, all without compromising those founding values.
Who is this for?
You wear colour without apology. You want casual, everyday clothes that feel good to wear — not just because of the fabric, but because of what went into making them. You’ve grown tired of “sustainable” brands that deliver beige basics at luxury prices. You want vivid prints, real craftsmanship, and the knowledge that the person who made your T-shirt was paid fairly and worked in a safe space. You shop intentionally, but you still want to enjoy what you wear.
