Most outdoor accessories do one thing. BUFF® does twelve. Since 1992, this Spanish brand has been quietly redefining what a single piece of fabric can do — from neckwarmer to balaclava, headband to dust mask, all without a single seam. It remains one of the most copied products in outdoor history, and one of the few originals still made where the idea was born.

Brand Intro

BUFF® was founded in 1992 by Joan Rojas, a Barcelona native raised in the family textile business. While motorcycle touring through the country roads of Catalonia, he needed protection from sun, wind, and cold — and designed a seamless microfiber tube as the solution. The first prototypes were made in his family’s knitting factory just outside Barcelona. Today, BUFF® manufactures 93% of its products in its own carbon-neutral factory in Barcelona, using 100% renewable energy, and sells in over 80 countries.

Inspiring Story

Joan Rojas didn’t set out to build a global brand. He was a motorcycle enthusiast frustrated by the lack of versatile protection for his face and neck on the winding roads of Catalonia. With a background in textiles and access to a family knitting factory near Barcelona, he spent years refining a single seamless tube of microfiber fabric that could be worn in over twelve different ways. Within three years of launch, BUFF® was already being distributed across Germany, France, and Switzerland. Joan Rojas passed away in January 2018 at the age of 71, but the brand he founded remains headquartered in Barcelona — still innovating, still manufacturing locally, and still guided by the same respect for the outdoors that inspired his original idea.

Who is this for?

A simple answer: everybody!

You spend time outdoors in all conditions and hate carrying extra gear. You run trails in the early morning cold, hike through changing mountain weather, or cycle into a headwind. You want one item that adapts — not a bag full of accessories. You care that what you buy is made responsibly, close to home, and built to last more than one season. BUFF® is for you if versatility, lightweight function, and genuine sustainability matter more than brand logos.

And if you’re not the person who needs the original buff – there is still a bunch of specials.
