Nahanny was founded out of love for the mountains and a belief that outdoor equipment should be honest, functional, and personal. Based in Romania, the brand produces all its down sleeping bags, clothing, and accessories made-to-order or in small batches — with no intermediaries. Down is sourced directly from Germany, using only goose down for its superior heat-to-weight ratio. The brand has been active since 2005 and counts expeditions to every major mountain region among its client base.

Inspiring Story

February 2015. Eight Romanians set off to cross Siberia in Toyota Land Cruisers at minus 50°C — nearly 30,000 km through the most isolated region on Earth. In their expedition journal, “warm” was defined as minus 30°C, and “cold” as minus 50°C — the temperature at which engines, fuel systems, and shock absorbers seized up completely. Expedition coordinator Mihai Tuca reported back to Nahanny’s founder Dan Glazer: “All the boys praised the Nahanny equipment very highly. The down jackets, trousers and gloves were indispensable — without them we would have been lost. I repaired a car at minus 43°C, lying in the snow, doing some welding, without feeling in the least bit cold.”
